Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Special Education Assistant in a dynamic elementary school setting near Framingham, MA. Two positions are available: one offering one-on-one support for a student in grade 4, and another working with a small group of 2-3 students in grade 5. You'll be an essential part of students' academic journeys, helping them thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with classroom teachers to support academic instruction and inclusion
- Provide dedicated assistance to students with special needs, focusing on learning strategies, behavioral guidance, and social-emotional growth
- Implement personalized support plans, adapting to individual student requirements
- Foster a positive, respectful, and safe environment for all learners
- Monitor progress, document observations, and communicate regularly with the educational team
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional or Special Education Assistant in a school setting
- Passion for supporting students with special academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs
- Ability to build supportive, trusting relationships with students and staff
- Flexibility, patience, and a strong sense of empathy
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional credentials or experience preferred)
Role Details:
- Contract position beginning as soon as possible, with anticipated coverage for the entire school year
- Monday through Friday, 8:20am–3:40pm (or end of school day)
