Qualifications & Experience:

  • Prior experience working in an educational setting or with children/adolescents preferred
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior support strategies
  • Ability to adapt to changing classroom needs with flexibility and patience
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers and students
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in education or a related field is a plus
  • Background check and any state-required credentials must be completed before starting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students, either one-on-one or in small groups, as directed by the lead teacher
  • Assist with implementing lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Help manage classroom behavior and foster a positive, respectful environment
  • Support students with special needs, following Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) where applicable
  • Prepare learning materials, help organize classroom resources, and maintain a tidy workspace
  • Supervise students during non-instructional periods (lunch, recess, transitions)
  • Communicate regularly with educators and staff regarding student progress and needs
