Multiple contract positions are available as Bus Aides for the remainder of the 25/26 school year, with the possibility of extended roles during the summer session and a strong likelihood of renewal for the 26/27 year. The role is ideal for Paraprofessionals and Certified Nursing Assistants interested in hands-on work within educational settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant
- Previous work with children, especially those with special needs, strongly preferred
- Skilled in verbal de-escalation techniques
- Prior experience riding the bus with students is highly valued
- Reliability and punctuality for split AM and PM shifts
Primary Responsibilities:
- Accompany the driver during student pick-ups from home in the morning and drop-offs after school
- Supervise students during their ride, ensuring a safe and positive atmosphere throughout the journey
- Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support, responding proactively to student needs and behavior
- Foster a caring, patient, and understanding environment for those with varying abilities
- Communicate effectively with transportation staff and school personnel as needed
Role Details:
- Contracted from January 5, 2026, to May 29, 2026, with openings for over 50 individuals
- Part-time schedule: 3 hours per day (15 hours per week), with AM routes between 6:30–8:30 am and PM routes between 2:30–4:30 pm (exact times may vary by location)
- Multiple locations available, primarily in Denver and Northern Denver
