Step into a rewarding paraprofessional role supporting students as a Bus Aide for school transportation throughout the 26/27 academic year, with excellent prospects for renewal into the following school year. As a Bus Aide, you’ll provide direct support on morning and afternoon routes for 10–15 hours per week, with schedules typically falling between 6:30–8:30 am and 2:30–4:30 pm. You’ll start in this role immediately and serve through May 2027, with additional opportunities for extended school year (ESY) engagement and continued employment into August.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, Certified Nursing Assistant, or similar role
- Background working with children who have special needs
- Strong verbal de-escalation and communication skills
- Experience supporting students during transportation preferred
- Ability to work independently and partner effectively with drivers and school staff
- Commitment to punctuality and professional conduct
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany school bus drivers on designated routes, ensuring student safety and comfort
- Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support based on student needs
- Greet students each morning and afternoon, assisting with boarding and exit
- Utilize de-escalation techniques as needed to maintain a positive environment
- Maintain clear communication with school administrators and recruiters regarding daily attendance
