Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students for the upcoming 26/27 school year as a Bus Aide. Six openings are available to provide essential assistance on school transportation routes serving the Glendale, CA area. Ideal candidates will be paraprofessionals or certified nursing assistants committed to student safety and well-being.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Proven ability to work with special needs children
  • Skilled in verbal de-escalation and maintaining a calm, caring environment
  • Familiarity with bus protocols or previous experience riding with students preferred
  • Dependability and punctuality are a must

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an aid in the vehicle during pick-up and drop-off of students
  • Escort students from their homes to school and back during AM and PM routes
  • Supervise students on the bus, always ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Maintain direct communication with bus drivers, staff, and families as needed
  • Manage caseloads of 1:1 or 2:1 students per route
  • Report any callouts according to established procedures

Additional Details:

  • Roles will run from 8/31/26 – 6/4/27, with strong potential for renewal into the summer and following school year
  • Assignments average 10-15 hours per week, with shifts falling between 6:30-8:30 am and 2:30-4:30 pm, depending on the site
  • Candidates must complete both staffing agency and ESD onboarding, including a brief in-person class
