Para Professional in Graham, NC

Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting educational success across pre-K to 12th grade settings. This contract opportunity, beginning as soon as possible through June 2027, offers the chance to work with a variety of learners, including those in private schools. With a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, you’ll play a meaningful role in the classroom and beyond, fostering growth and supporting students’ individual needs.

What you bring:

• Prior experience working as a paraprofessional or instructional aide in a school environment
• Background supporting students displaying mild to moderate behavioral needs
• Comfort assisting young children, including providing toileting support when necessary
• Ability to adapt to diverse student populations and changing classroom settings
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, school teams, and caregivers
• Patience, empathy, and a dedication to helping students reach their full potential

Daily responsibilities include:

• Assisting teachers in instructional activities and classroom management
• Supporting individual and small group learning, tailoring interventions as needed
• Providing encouragement, positive reinforcement, and redirection to students
• Monitoring student progress and documenting observations
• Supporting general classroom routines and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment
• Assisting with tasks that help students access their education, including physical and personal care
