Instructional Assistant - Grand Ledge, MI

Make a direct and meaningful difference as a contract paraprofessional, working 1:1 with a 5th grade student who thrives with a supportive male role model. This position is full-time and offers the rewarding chance to positively impact a student’s educational journey from now through the end of the school year. You’ll play a vital role in their daily experience, providing both academic and behavioral support in a school setting near Grand Ledge, MI.

Your commitment will continue uninterrupted if and when the student transitions to a new program (RESA) in January, ensuring consistent guidance and rapport. You’ll work closely with the school’s staff and, most importantly, see firsthand the growth you help foster.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience working as a paraprofessional in an academic environment
• Empathetic and calm demeanor, with strong interpersonal skills
• Able to establish rapport with students, especially those who respond well to male support
• Willingness to work in a 1:1 setting, supporting a student throughout the entire school day
• Reliability and adaptability in a changing school environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Provide direct support to a 5th grade student in academic, social, and behavioral areas

• Assist with classroom activities, following individualized plans and teacher guidance
• Monitor student progress and help promote personal growth
