Teacher's Aide - Granger, Indiana

Multiple roles are available at both the elementary and high school levels, with weekly hours of 32.5 and 37.5, respectively. Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in special education settings is strongly desired
• Genuine passion for working with students requiring intensive support
• Comfort assisting with personal care, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and dressing
• Ability to implement behavior plans and work effectively through physical or behavioral challenges
• Reliable, calm, supportive, and able to maintain student dignity at all times
• Willingness to learn and follow safety and intervention protocols
• Effective communicator, capable of accurately recording data and collaborating with staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support for students throughout the school day, including transitions, in classrooms, or other settings
• Assist with personal care routines, mobility, positioning, and physical transfers as trained
• Use approved strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviors such as aggression or elopement
• Foster student communication, engagement with schoolwork, and development of daily living and social skills
• Closely supervise and ensure safety during all activities and transitions
• Track behaviors and progress, and promptly communicate observations or concerns to the educational team
• Uphold confidentiality, dignity, and a positive atmosphere during every interaction
