Instructional Aide in Gretna, LA

Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Paraprofessional, working as a Para/VOCO Facilitator for the upcoming academic year. This full-time position (35 hours each week) begins August 3, 2026, and continues through May 27, 2027. You’ll serve as a crucial connection and support for students, facilitating virtual services provided by a School Psychologist or Speech-Language Pathologist. The final number of assigned schools and detailed caseload specifics will be determined prior to start.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate dedication and flexibility, with a commitment to enriching the educational experience for students in a virtual learning environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Associate's degree, or a ParaPro assessment score of at least 450, or a minimum of 48 completed semester credit hours (requirement by district)
• Demonstrated experience in Special Education classroom settings
• Strong communication skills and the ability to support instruction under the guidance of licensed staff
• Willingness and ability to complete both district and agency required credentialing steps, including a drug screen and fingerprinting
• Previous experience facilitating virtual learning preferred, but not required
• Reliable, organized, and adaptable to evolving student and classroom needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Act as the on-site facilitator for remote school psychologists or SLPs, ensuring effective delivery of virtual educational services
• Provide hands-on support, guidance, and encouragement to students during their sessions
• Collaborate with teachers, service providers, and educational staff to maintain a productive learning environment
• Assist in implementing classroom and individualized education plans
• Attend required training and maintain daily documentation
