Qualifications & Experience:
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially in a school or classroom setting, preferred
- Enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged students
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to support individual learning needs
- Desire to collaborate with a diverse educational team
- EIPA certification is not required for this position
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one ASL interpretation and academic assistance to an elementary student
- Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers
- Help adapt instructional materials and classroom activities as needed
- Support the student’s social and emotional development in the classroom environment
- Monitor progress and communicate regularly with educators and family
