Special Education Para Professional in Gridley, CA

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on, one-on-one support to a student who communicates using ASL
• Assist with educational activities and social interactions throughout the school day
• Interpret instructions from teachers into ASL to ensure comprehension
• Support the student in inclusive classroom settings, adapting material as needed
• Foster a positive, encouraging environment for learning and growth
• Maintain open communication with educational staff about student progress

Desired Qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a school environment is strongly preferred
• No EIPA certification required for this position
• Comfortable working with elementary-aged students
