Qualifications & Experience:

  • Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional, especially in a school or classroom setting, preferred
  • Enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged students
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to support individual learning needs
  • Desire to collaborate with a diverse educational team
  • EIPA certification is not required for this position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one ASL interpretation and academic assistance to an elementary student
  • Facilitate clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers
  • Help adapt instructional materials and classroom activities as needed
  • Support the student’s social and emotional development in the classroom environment
  • Monitor progress and communicate regularly with educators and family
