In this after-school position, you’ll provide valuable assistance to students who are deaf or hard of hearing at various educational sites in the Gridley, CA area. With part-time hours (20-24 hours per week), you’ll make a meaningful difference in students’ daily lives while maintaining flexibility in your own schedule.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
- Previous experience as a Paraprofessional in an educational setting preferred
- EIPA certification is not required for this role
- An approachable, patient, and supportive demeanor
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support for students who use ASL
- Assist in classroom activities, reinforcing lesson content through sign language
- Promote inclusive communication between students and educators
- Adapt instructional materials and methods for individual student needs
- Supervise students and ensure safety during after-school programming
Schedule and Setting:
- Daily hours are 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM
- Support students across multiple school sites
- 20-24 hours per week, ideal for balancing work and personal commitments
