Instructional Assistant - Groton, Connecticut

Looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting? We are seeking three dedicated individuals to serve as paraprofessionals on a full-time contract basis, supporting students with complex disabilities, neurodevelopmental delays, or emotional and behavioral challenges. This role spans the school year from August 24, 2026, to June 11, 2027, with working hours from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 32.5 hours per week.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Associate’s degree or successful completion of the Para Pro exam preferred (experienced candidates without these credentials may be considered)
• Prior experience supporting children with disabilities or developmental delays is highly desirable
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt and respond calmly to diverse student needs
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistency for students

Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated support as a 1:1 or 2:1 paraprofessional working closely with students facing significant learning and behavioral obstacles
• Assist with implementing individualized educational programs (IEPs)
• Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured environment in the classroom and during activities
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to reinforce learning and social goals
• Support students with daily living activities, as needed
• Participate in ongoing training provided to ensure effectiveness in the role
