Teacher's Aide | Groton, Connecticut

We're seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to provide essential resource and in-class support, focusing on helping children in grades K-2 achieve their educational and developmental goals. This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing you to establish lasting connections with both students and staff.

Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting
• Familiarity with resource and in-class special education support
• Ability to provide 1:1 support for students with special needs, alongside nursing staff
• Skilled in fostering a nurturing environment and effectively managing behavioral challenges
• Strong communication skills and flexibility to adapt to various student needs
• Demonstrated passion for supporting young learners (K-2 focus initially)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering individualized instruction and behavioral interventions as needed
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and special education staff
• Support students within resource rooms and general classroom settings
• Provide custodial care and assist students with daily routines and activities
• Serve as a compassionate 1:1 aide, ensuring the well-being of students receiving nursing support
• Adapt to other duties and age ranges as school needs evolve throughout the assignment
