Key Qualifications:
- A minimum of one year of paraprofessional experience in a school setting.
- Completion of either a paraprofessional certification, an associate’s degree, or at least 48 college credits. (Candidates without these credentials must be willing to obtain paraprofessional certification within 60 days of hire.)
- Collaborative attitude, adaptability, and a passion for working with high school students, particularly those in life skills programs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to assist teachers in developing and maintaining an engaging classroom atmosphere.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily classroom support to teachers and students in the high school life skills program.
- Assist with instructional activities, behavioral strategies, and individual accommodations as needed.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and positive classroom climate.
- Supervise students during classroom work, outings, transitions, and lunch or break periods as directed.
- Collaborate closely with instructional staff to tailor support for student success.
