Special Education Paraeducator (Must be CPR/First Aid Certified)

K-5 Paraprofessional - Harrisburg, PA

Soliant Education is hiring onsite Paraprofessionals for school-based openings in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This education industry position is a contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year, with approximately 10-15 openings available. Most assignments will support elementary autism support classrooms, giving candidates the opportunity to work closely with students and school teams in a structured learning environment.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for individuals who are patient, dependable, and committed to helping students succeed throughout the school day. Paraprofessionals will provide classroom support under the direction of teachers and related school staff. Candidates will complete a phone screening with a Soliant recruiter and account manager before being considered for a district interview.

Responsibilities

The Paraprofessional will assist students with academic, behavioral, and daily classroom activities based on teacher direction and student needs. Duties may include supporting instructional tasks, helping maintain a positive classroom environment, and encouraging student participation during lessons and routines. The role may also involve assisting with transitions, reinforcing individualized supports, and collaborating with school staff to promote student progress.

Requirements

Applicants must have a high school diploma or a higher level of education to be considered. Current CPR and First Aid certifications are required, and both must have been completed through in-person training programs. Prior experience in autism support, elementary education, special education, or school-based student support is preferred but not required unless specified by the district.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this contract position is $18-$22 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Soliant Education offers weekly pay and a benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance. Eligible employees may also participate in a 401k plan.
