This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 32.5 hours per week at a campus near Hartford, CT. As a vital part of the classroom community, you will work primarily in 1:1 and classroom support settings, making a meaningful impact in the lives of students on the Autism Spectrum and those with behavioral challenges ranging from mild to more significant needs.

Your main focus will be providing individualized attention, ensuring each child has the support they require to thrive in their educational environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to student growth and collaborate with a dedicated team of educators.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in behavioral or special education (SPED) settings
  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional or paraeducator strongly preferred
  • Comfort working with students exhibiting a wide range of behavioral and developmental needs
  • Ability to provide toileting assistance as required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting individual learning goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 support to students within classroom settings
  • Assist with daily activities, social development, and behavior management
  • Help foster an encouraging, inclusive, and safe learning atmosphere
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to implement individualized education plans
  • Communicate regularly with educators and supervisors regarding student progress
