Classroom Assistant | Harvey, Louisiana

Make an impact supporting students as a contract Para/VOCO Facilitator working full-time in a dynamic educational environment near Harvey, LA. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with virtual School Psychologists or Speech-Language Pathologists, providing essential support to students in need of special education services. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with a 35-hour work week (seven-hour days and a 30-minute unpaid lunch).

Key Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree, OR a ParaPro Assessment score of 450 or higher, OR a minimum of 48 completed semester credit hours (as required by the district)
• Prior experience working in a special education classroom
• Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing, including drug screening and fingerprint clearance
• Commitment to supporting students’ academic and emotional success in a virtual facilitation role
• Reliable, flexible, and collaborative approach to working across multiple schools (specific assignments TBD)

Main Responsibilities:

• Serve as an on-site facilitator for students and coordinate virtual sessions with School Psychologists or Speech-Language Pathologists
• Assist students with accessing online services, troubleshooting basic technology issues, and staying engaged in virtual learning
• Provide classroom support tailored to the needs of students with disabilities, under the guidance of special education professionals
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication as directed
• Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
