Special Education Para Professional in Hastings, MN

Openings are available for Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional (Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:00pm), Kids Club Special Education Paraprofessional (Monday-Friday, 1:30pm-5:30pm), and Kids Club Lead (Monday-Friday, 1:30pm-6:00pm). These contract roles offer you the chance to work closely with dedicated educators and enthusiastic students.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience working with children in educational or care settings
• Understanding of special education principles and willingness to support students with diverse needs
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliability and commitment to consistent attendance
• For the Lead role: experience leading group activities and overseeing children preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to special education teachers and classroom staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
• Assist students individually or in small groups with academic and behavioral goals
• Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that promotes growth and self-confidence
• Support daily routines, transitions, and the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Participate in Kids Club programming, facilitating educational and recreational activities in the after-school hours
• Supervise children, ensuring safety throughout all activities
• As a Lead, coordinate Kids Club sessions, communicate with families, and model best practices for team members
