This contract opportunity as a Paraprofessional is designed for someone eager to make a difference in educational environments, working closely with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). This flexible, itinerant position is ideal for candidates who are adaptable and enthusiastic about supporting learners across various settings.

As a Paraprofessional, you’ll facilitate access and communication for students in collaboration with a remote TVI. Your contributions will play a critical part in creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment for visually impaired students, while also serving the diverse needs of the district as needed.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Paraprofessional in a school setting is highly valued.
  • Ability to take initiative, adapt, and maintain flexibility in different classroom environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with educators and students.
  • Comfort with itinerant roles and willingness to support in multiple locations as required.
  • Sensitivity to the unique needs of students with visual impairments.
  • Reliable work ethic and commitment to student success.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work full-time to support a remote TVI, acting as an on-the-ground liaison for students.
  • Provide direct assistance to students to facilitate access to educational content.
  • Support classroom modification and adaptation for students with vision impairments.
  • Assist in implementing individualized instructional strategies coordinated with the TVI.
  • Step in to provide paraprofessional support elsewhere within the district as needed.
