Key Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting
- Strong background working with elementary-aged students with disabilities
- Familiarity with feeding and toileting assistance required
- Patient and empathetic communication style
- Preference for candidates who identify as female, to best meet the student's needs
- Ability to follow individualized education and behavior plans
- Comfortable working 32.5 hours per week during the school year
Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, tailored support to an assigned student throughout the school day
- Assist with feeding and toileting routines to support the student’s independence and dignity
- Collaborate closely with special education teachers and related service providers
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities and student progress
- Encourage socialization, engagement in class activities, and positive behavior
- Support the implementation of learning activities and modifications as outlined in the student’s plan
- Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment at all times
