Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit required before starting (cannot be pending; proof of issuance must accompany submission)
  • Ability to pay $85 for CBC fingerprinting prior to assignment
  • Experience or comfort supporting students with behavioral challenges such as tantrums, aggression, and elopement
  • Able to implement behavior intervention strategies and individualized plans
  • Professional, patient, and compassionate demeanor with strong communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to preschool students in alignment with their IEPs and BSPs
  • Assist in managing and redirecting challenging behaviors in the classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to monitor student progress and adjust support as needed
  • Foster a safe, welcoming, and positive atmosphere that encourages learning and growth
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all compliance and safety protocols
  • Ensure consistent attendance and engagement during Monday through Friday daytime hours (35 hours/week, 30-minute unpaid lunch daily)

  • If you currently hold an RBT credential, please be aware that the district neither provides nor allows agency supervision towards maintaining that certification for this assignment.
