Classroom Aide | Hockessin, Delaware

Support students’ growth and learning as an essential classroom partner in a specialized autism support environment. This contract opportunity starts October 26, 2026, and continues through the end of March, providing valuable maternity leave coverage. You’ll be working full-time onsite, Monday through Friday, supporting a dynamic BRIDGES program designed for elementary students with diverse needs on the autism spectrum.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit (must be in hand at the time of application; pending permits will not be considered)
• Experience working with children, especially those with autism or developmental disabilities, preferred
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate support and adapt to individual learning and behavioral needs
• Must pay for $85 CBC fingerprinting (as required by Delaware DOE) and confirm willingness to complete this step
• If you hold an RBT credential, please note district and agency supervision will not be provided; you must arrange BCBA supervision independently
• Reliable, collaborative team player with strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct support to students in a BRIDGES autism support classroom, following plans outlined by teachers and related service providers
• Assist with academic tasks, behavioral interventions, and daily routines to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Foster students’ independence, safety, and social engagement throughout the day
• Collaborate with educational staff and participate in meetings as needed
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to school/district policies at all times
