Here’s an excellent opportunity for a dedicated paraprofessional eager to make a difference within an elementary school setting. You’ll provide essential one-on-one support for a student on full-year medical leave in a vibrant learning environment. This contract position offers valuable hands-on experience while working with caring educators and students. Male candidates are preferred for this particular assignment due to specific caseload needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit—must be in hand prior to start (pending status must be documented with a DEEDS portal screenshot; applications in process are not accepted)
- Experience supporting students in an educational environment, preferably within an elementary school
- Willingness and ability to pay for required $85 CBC fingerprinting before placement
- Positive, patient demeanor and the ability to build supportive relationships
- For certified RBTs: Note that the school does not provide or allow agency supervision; outside supervision or certification lapse may result
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent daily support to assigned student, ensuring their comfort and engagement
- Assist the classroom teacher and participate in implementing academic or behavioral plans
- Promote a positive, inclusive atmosphere for learning and personal growth
- Foster student independence while being attentive to safety and well-being
- Document observations and communicate student progress to appropriate staff
