Make a meaningful impact this summer by supporting students on a 1:1 basis in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity is located in the Elmira, NY area and focuses on working directly with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as part of a dedicated team. This role is especially suited for those with a background as a Paraprofessional, Teacher Assistant, or Teacher Aide, and TCI certification is strongly preferred.

The program runs from July 6, 2026, to August 14, 2026, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering approximately 27.5 to 30 hours per week—perfect for those looking for a structured, rewarding summer role. There is a specific need for male Teacher Assistants as certain students respond best to male support professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Active NY State License or Certificate for Teacher Assistants (required for Teacher Assistant roles)
  • Prior experience in 1:1 educational support, especially with ASD students
  • TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) certification highly preferred
  • Experience in school settings as a Paraprofessional, Teacher Assistant, or Teacher Aide
  • Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with educators and staff for student success

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and encouragement to assigned students
  • Implement strategies as outlined by educational teams and IEPs
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment
  • Assist with classroom activities and transitions
  • Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
