Teacher's Aide - Horseheads, New York

This contract role, located near Horseheads, NY, runs from September 8, 2026, through June 18, 2027, and includes 32.5 hours per week working closely with a preschool student in a 1:1 setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct daily support to a preschool student, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment
• Implement direction from lead teachers and special education staff
• Assist with behavior support strategies tailored to individual student needs
• Help with personal care tasks, including diaper changing and hygiene, as needed
• Foster positive social and emotional growth throughout classroom activities
• Collaborate with staff and parents to deliver consistent student support

Qualifications:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or relevant experience as a teacher’s aide/assistant
• Previous work with preschool-aged children highly valued
• Comfort and familiarity with personal care routines, including diaper changing
• Prior exposure to positive behavior support practices is preferred
• Effective communication, patience, and reliability a must
