Instructional Aide - Horseheads, NY

Bring your experience and dedication to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting an individual preschool student as a Teacher’s Aide/Assistant. This role is located near Horseheads, NY, and runs from September 8, 2026, through June 18, 2027. With 32.5 hours per week, you’ll provide essential support to help a young learner thrive in the classroom.

What you need to succeed:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or in a teacher’s aide/assistant role.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively one-on-one with preschool-aged children.
• Understanding of behavioral strategies and experience supporting students with behavioral needs preferred.
• Willingness and comfort with personal care tasks, including diaper changes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Dependability and a team-oriented attitude.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated, individualized support to a preschool student throughout the school day.
• Implement strategies set by teachers or specialists to foster student engagement and positive behavior.
• Assist with daily routines, classroom activities, and transitions.
• Support personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene.
• Foster a safe and supportive environment to encourage student growth and participation.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to report progress and concerns.
