Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children with disabilities is essential.
• Missouri sub certificate or para praxis required; see eligibility options below.
• Skills in de-escalation, behavioral management, and supporting students with social/emotional needs strongly preferred.
• Physical ability to be active around the classroom, assist with physical management or elopement, and support mobility needs.
• Bonus if you have an RBT background.
• Comfort and experience with tasks such as toileting, feeding, and assisting with lifts for students as needed.
• Medical background or experience is beneficial for some settings.
• Ability to work in small group or 1:1 settings, adapting to diverse learning and skill levels.
• Must have 60 college credit hours, or have passed the relevant Paraprofessional or Substitute Assessment in Missouri as specified.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students within a self-contained K-5 Social/Emotional Learning program and K-8 special education settings.
• Provide instructional assistance and behavioral support in SPED classrooms.
• Assist with physical, functional, academic, and work/life skills development—this could include facilitating task boxes, simple cooking, or supporting inclusion in general education classes.
