Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Missouri Substitute Certificate, reflected on the DESE website
- Prior paraprofessional experience in educational or special education settings preferred
- Confidence in providing classroom and 1:1 student support, including toileting, changing, and assisting students with behavioral needs
- Open to serving in SPED classrooms and adapting to a range of student abilities
- Willingness to rotate between classroom assignments or float across grade levels as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers, SPED staff, and school teams to foster inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Deliver individualized assistance in both general education and special education classrooms
- Help students with daily activities, monitor behavior, and supervise during transitions
- Maintain a compassionate, professional attitude while supporting students’ physical and emotional needs
- Ensure clear and respectful communication with students, families, and staff
