Contribute your talents as a paraprofessional supporting students across K–12 settings in north-central Missouri. This contract opportunity seeks flexible professionals ready to assist in special education classrooms for the Extended School Year in June and throughout the upcoming academic year starting in August. Assignments are available across 22 elementary, 6 middle, and 5 high schools, and may include both one-on-one and general classroom support.
Your adaptability will be valued as needs vary between grade levels and buildings. You’ll work alongside dedicated educators, making a real impact with students who benefit most from personalized attention. Comfort in handling toileting/changing and positive behavior support is essential.
Qualifications:
- Active Substitute Certificate listed on DESE (check your status before applying)
- Experience as a paraprofessional or similar role in K–12 environments
- Willingness to support students in both special education and general education settings
- Readiness to assist with personal care needs and manage a variety of student behaviors
- Flexibility across elementary, middle, and high school placements, with preferences considered
- Ability to complete district fingerprinting requirements ($45 fee)
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group support to students as assigned
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional activities
- Support students with special needs, including personal care and behavior interventions
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Float between buildings as needed to meet district demands
Schedules vary by grade level:
- Middle School: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- High School: 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM
- Elementary: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
