Make a difference supporting students in a rewarding, full-time contract role as a Paraprofessional fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). Help facilitate communication and learning for students needing ASL support throughout the entire school year at a location close to Indianapolis, IN.
Key Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or working with students is highly desirable
- Ability to engage and support students of varying abilities and backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative mindset for working alongside educators and support staff
- Patience, adaptability, and a true passion for student development
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct ASL interpretation and communication support for students in classroom and school environments
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and modifications as required
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging atmosphere that supports all learners
- Help implement educational and behavioral plans under supervision of licensed educators
- Offer individualized assistance to students, helping clarify concepts and facilitate participation
- Support student independence and growth while respecting confidentiality and student dignity
- Adapt quickly to new situations, classroom routines, and student needs
