A school district near Inglewood, CA is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as a Registered Behavior Technician for the remainder of the 25/26 academic year. This is a full-time, contract role running from April 13, 2026, through June 11, 2026. The primary focus will be providing 1:1 support to a student with significant behavioral challenges, creating a positive and structured environment. The district expresses a preference for male candidates.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
  • Experience as a paraprofessional, ideally within a school setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in supporting students with intensive behavioral needs
  • Ability to work patiently and effectively on a 1:1 basis
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and families
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to school protocols
  • High degree of adaptability, resilience, and compassion

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 behavioral support and implement individualized behavior intervention plans
  • Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and interventions
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, behavioral specialists, and other staff
  • Offer proactive and reactive support to manage challenging behaviors
  • Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment
  • Assist with academic and social skills as outlined in the student’s plan
  • Communicate regularly with the care team regarding progress and concerns
