Make a meaningful impact every day by supporting a bright, engaging 5th grader as a one-on-one paraprofessional. In this full-time, contract opportunity, you will play a pivotal role in a young student’s growth and learning near Ionia, MI. Your supportive, consistent presence will help foster the student’s academic and social development throughout the school year.

Your assignment begins as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year. Because the student will be transferring educational settings in January, flexibility and willingness to transition alongside the student is essential. The student thrives with a male mentor, and your steady guidance will shape a positive school experience.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional, ideally in a 1:1 setting with elementary school students
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive, professional boundaries
  • Comfortable adapting to changing environments and schedules, including accompanying the student to a new school mid-year
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, specialists, and families
  • Initiative and patience to respond positively to student needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct one-on-one support to a 5th grade student throughout the school day
  • Assist with academic work, behavior guidance, and daily classroom tasks
  • Communicate observations and progress with teaching staff and student support teams
  • Assist with transitions, including supporting the student’s move to a new educational setting in January
  • Ensure the student’s safety and well-being at all times
