Instructional Assistant - Ithaca, NY

Openings include four Teacher Assistant positions (New York State Certification required) and multiple Teacher Aide roles (no certification required). The initial contract runs for 13 weeks with the possibility of extension, offering stable, impactful work in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications:

• Teacher Assistant: New York State Certification as a Teacher Assistant (required)
• Teacher Aide: No certification necessary, but prior experience in a school or support role is a plus
• Strong communication, patience, and a genuine interest in supporting students
• Must provide contact information for one managerial reference (for profile presentation)
• For Teacher Assistant candidates: Submit verification of NYS Education Certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a safe and positive classroom environment for students and teachers
• Assist with instructional tasks and implement behavioral support strategies as directed by classroom educators
• Encourage student engagement and assist with classroom management
• Support individual and small group learning activities
• Help maintain classroom organization and prepare learning materials

Schedules:

• Certified Teacher Assistants: 36.25 hours per week (30-minute unpaid lunch daily)
• Teacher Aides: 32.5 hours per week (30-minute unpaid lunch daily)
