Qualifications & Desired Background:

  • Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school environment
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, Mild/Moderate special education needs
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff
  • Effective communication skills with children, colleagues, and families
  • Reliability and commitment to a full school year
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some assignments may require additional certifications)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with academic and behavioral needs
  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, accommodations, and supervision
  • Implement behavior plans and support individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed
  • Help foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Document student progress and communicate regularly with lead teachers and school staff
  • Adapt to assignments in elementary or secondary settings, based on your skills and interests
