Instructional Assistant - Joliet, IL

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a contract paraprofessional at a school near Joliet, IL. This rewarding opportunity spans from ASAP until the last day of the school year, Monday through Friday, from 8:15am to 3:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch and 33.75 paid hours each week.

In this position, you will provide essential 1:1 support for a student (K-18; age to be determined) who may require assistance with social and emotional behaviors as well as potential toileting and diapering needs. Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar classroom support role
• Familiarity with supporting students exhibiting social or emotional behavioral needs
• Comfort with providing personal care, including assistance with toileting and diapering
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with educators and school staff
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability in responding to student needs
• Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity at all times
• Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to the school schedule

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized support for a student throughout the school day
• Assist with social, emotional, and behavioral interventions, under teacher guidance
• Support inclusion in classroom and school activities
• Help with personal care needs as necessary
• Document daily interventions and maintain open communication with the educational team
• Foster a safe, respectful environment that encourages student growth and learning
