A contract opportunity is available for paraprofessionals to provide flexible support across multiple schools in the Kansas City, MO area. This role involves floating between elementary, middle, and high schools to cover paraprofessional and Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) call-outs in special education classrooms. Assignments can include 1:1 support or general classroom assistance, and candidates must be comfortable with toileting and changing duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide coverage for paraprofessional and RBT absences across approximately 33 schools (22 elementary, 6 middle, 5 high schools).
  • Support special education classrooms with flexibility to assist in various settings.
  • Assist with toileting and changing as needed.
  • Adapt to varying schedules that may range from early morning to mid-afternoon shifts.
  • Maintain readiness to float between schools based on daily needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Substitute Certificate registered with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
  • Experience supporting special education students in 1:1 or general classroom settings preferred.
  • Ability to manage toileting and personal care responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to work between 7.5 to 37 hours per week, depending on call-out volume.
  • Willingness to complete required background checks and credentialing processes.

Work Details:

  • Contract duration is approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks starting shortly after offer acceptance through May 28th.
  • Hours vary by daily demand; schedules may differ between school start times.
  • Multiple positions available.
  • Potential to transition into a full-time contractor role based on performance and district needs.
