Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active Missouri substitute certification (SUB cert on DESE); candidates in the process of obtaining certification may begin once active.
- Previous experience working in schools, particularly with behavioral interventions or SPED classrooms.
- Comfortable supporting students with behavior needs, following Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and assisting with 1:1 or classroom aide duties — including toileting when needed.
- Fingerprinting required per district guidelines.
- Must be able to adapt quickly to various elementary, middle, or high school settings and grade levels.
- Tech-savvy to efficiently use an app for scheduling and shift selection.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to daily call-outs, filling in as a paraprofessional where coverage is needed throughout the district (primarily elementary schools).
- Support teachers and SPED teams in maintaining classroom structure and ensuring the safety and success of students.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding student progress and concerns.
- Foster positive, respectful interactions with students needing behavioral and academic support.
- Maintain professionalism across various assignments and adapt to each classroom’s unique needs.
- Pick up shifts as available—work as little as one day or up to five days a week based on your availability, with scheduling and assignments managed through an app.
In this role, you’ll earn $20.00 per hour for all shifts you work, giving you the flexibility to tailor your work schedule to your needs.
