Special Education Para Professional in Kenner, LA

Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Paraprofessional and VOCO Facilitator in a contract position near Kenner, LA. This full-time role spans the upcoming school year, offering you the chance to facilitate virtual sessions with skilled school psychologists or speech-language pathologists while making a tangible impact in the classroom.

Key Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree, OR a ParaPro assessment score of at least 450, OR a minimum of 48 completed semester credit hours (required)
• Demonstrated experience in a special education classroom
• Ability to meet credentialing requirements, including a district-specific drug screening and fingerprinting
• Flexibility to support multiple school assignments as needed
• Strong communication skills and comfort with virtual communication platforms
• Dedication to providing hands-on support to students and assisting licensed professionals

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as the onsite facilitator for virtual sessions conducted by a school psychologist or SLP
• Provide direct assistance to students in special education settings, reinforcing lesson objectives and individualized learning plans
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment to encourage student engagement
• Support teachers and related service providers with daily classroom activities
• Help prepare materials and manage student documentation according to district protocols
• Collaborate with school staff and communicate observations regarding student progress

Additional Details:

• Full-time, 35 hours per week with a consistent daily schedule (7 hours per day, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
• Contract begins August 3, 2026, and continues through May 27, 2027
• School assignments and student caseload will be confirmed prior to start
