Step into a meaningful contract role supporting early learners as a Paraprofessional in a welcoming elementary environment conveniently located near La Fayette, GA. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through May 21st, 2027, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact over multiple school years.

In this position, you'll work closely with a first-grade student who attends for half the school day. The ideal candidate will provide dedicated one-on-one support, create a safe and engaging environment, and assist with daily activities—including some toileting. The student is mostly non-verbal, has mild involvement, and takes comfort in sharing walks hand-in-hand with their para, making compassionate communication and patience essential.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid GaPSC Paraprofessional Certification (required)
  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or with children, preferably within a school setting
  • Ability to engage with non-verbal students using empathy and effective support strategies
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care and toileting as needed
  • Reliable, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting students’ needs

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one assistance throughout the school day for a first-grade student
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere
  • Assist with communication strategies and classroom routines
  • Support mild involvement needs using guidance from educators and therapists
  • Maintain a compassionate, observant presence—ensuring safety and comfort

Hours for this position are currently being finalized, but you can expect a schedule of at least 17.5 hours weekly, with the potential for a full-time, 37.5-hour workweek.
