Classroom Assistant | Lake City, Minnesota

Current openings include:

• Elementary Special Education Paraprofessional: Monday through Friday, 7:30am – 3:00pm
• Kids Club Special Education Paraprofessional: Monday through Friday, 1:30pm – 5:30pm
• Kids Club Lead: Monday through Friday, 1:30pm – 6:00pm

Ideal qualifications and experience:

• Previous work as a paraprofessional, instructional aide, or classroom assistant preferred
• Ability to foster a supportive and inclusive environment
• Commitment to assisting children with special needs or individualized learning plans
• Strong communication skills and collaborative attitude
• Patience, flexibility, and dependability in a school setting
• Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting

Key responsibilities:

• Provide in-classroom and/or after-school assistance for students requiring additional support
• Assist teachers with daily classroom management and activities
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce lessons and encourage participation
• Support kids’ social and emotional development within and beyond the classroom
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment for all students
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure every child’s needs are met
