We are seeking dedicated paraprofessionals for a high-intensity classroom serving high school students with severe needs, including those exhibiting aggressive or self-injurious behaviors. This is a contract role with a 2026–2027 school year commitment. You’ll make a real impact, working within a collaborative team focused on safety, behavioral support, and meaningful student growth.
Key qualifications:
- At least 1 year of paraprofessional experience in a special education classroom (PreK–12) supporting students with autism and significant behavioral challenges.
- Able and willing to provide hands-on care (including toileting, diapering, feeding, transfers) for students with intensive needs.
- Must reside within a 35-minute commute.
- Available full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM (with mandatory orientation the first week, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM).
- Comfortable with safety interventions and proactive behavioral support strategies.
- Completion of two work references as a paraprofessional supervisor.
- Must meet or be eligible to complete one of the PA paraprofessional qualification requirements (48 college credits, associate degree or higher, or completion of the certification process within 60 days).
- Willingness to complete all necessary clearances by deadline and remain flexible with school placements as required.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one or small group support.
- Implementing behavioral intervention and safety strategies under the direction of classroom staff.
- Supporting students actively throughout the day, including assisting with personal care.
- Maintaining a high level of professionalism and adaptability in a dynamic school setting.
