Key Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting
  • Demonstrated background working with high functioning autism or supporting neurodiverse learners
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, specialists, and families
  • Ability to deliver academic support while encouraging self-advocacy
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct 1:1 support to a high school student throughout the school day
  • Assist with classroom assignments, organization, and daily routines
  • Reinforce strategies outlined in the student’s academic plans
  • Model positive behaviors and social interactions while helping to build self-confidence
  • Maintain regular, clear communication with teaching staff regarding progress and challenges
  • Ensure the student’s safety and wellbeing in various school settings
