This role seeks dedicated paraprofessionals to support K-12 students in a public school setting in Lee, MA. The positions are for the current school year (CSY) under contract terms. Opportunities exist for both elementary and middle/high school levels, providing crucial assistance to students with diverse needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 support for students in developmental and social-emotional programs, including a nonverbal 4th grade student and a possible 5th grade student.
- Assisting in classroom support for 5th/6th grade and potentially 7th/8th grade and 11th/12th grade classrooms.
- Supporting students with life skills and unique medical or mobility challenges, such as an 11th grade student with paraplegia.
- Collaborating with educators and specialists to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Work hours and schedules:
- Elementary paraprofessionals: 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM.
- Middle and high school paraprofessionals: 7:58 AM to 2:29 PM.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Experience working with K-12 students in classroom or 1:1 support roles.
- Ability to assist nonverbal students and students with developmental or social emotional needs.
- Familiarity with behavioral support strategies; Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is a plus but not required.
- Flexibility and compassion in adapting to students’ individual requirements, including those with significant physical disabilities.
