Instructional Assistant - Lees Summit, Missouri

We're seeking dedicated paraprofessionals to provide per diem coverage for contractor call outs across a network of 33 schools—primarily elementary settings—working in SPED classrooms. This flexible, contract position lets you tailor your schedule, with opportunities to work anywhere from one to five days per week, based on your availability and daily needs. Assignments may include supporting students with behavior intervention plans, assisting with toileting, and working either as a 1:1 aide or a classroom support resource.

What We’re Looking For:

• Active substitute certificate (SUB cert) on file with the DESE, or in process—must be active by your first day
• Previous experience in school settings, especially with behavioral support and SPED
• Willingness to obtain district-specific fingerprint clearance prior to starting
• Tech-savvy: must be comfortable using the Spindle app to view and accept open shifts
• Reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic about supporting K-12 students with diverse needs
• Open to both classroom-wide and 1:1 support roles

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers and staff in SPED classrooms, supporting students with varying behavioral and educational needs
• Implement and follow behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under staff guidance
• Provide personal care, including toileting, when required
• Foster a supportive and engaging learning environment
• Adapt quickly to new settings, staff teams, and varying student needs
