Classroom Assistant | Lees Summit, Missouri

This position is based near Lees Summit, MO with placement at Chapel Hill Elementary, working weekdays from 9:00am to 4:25pm. You'll have the chance to contribute to a dynamic school environment while supporting a student as part of a collaborative team.

Key Qualifications:

• Active substitute paraprofessional certification (SUB cert) through DESE is required
• Prior experience working in schools, particularly supporting students with behavioral or learning needs
• Willingness to complete required fingerprinting (specific to district requirements)
• Dependable transportation for consistent attendance
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with patience and flexibility

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized 1:1 support for a student throughout the school day
• Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and engagement
• Collaborate closely with teachers and staff to implement behavior or learning plans
• Support safe, respectful classroom and school environments
• Track and report progress or any concerns to appropriate school staff
• Adapt quickly to the changing needs of students and educators
