Classroom Assistant | Lees Summit, Missouri

Make a difference in the lives of students as a Paraprofessional supporting individuals with unique needs. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to work 1:1 with two students in a school environment near Lees Summit, MO. This contract opportunity allows you to provide vital educational and personal care support, helping students access their educational programs and achieve daily successes.

What you bring:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional or in a supportive role within a school or similar setting
• Ability to provide attentive care to medically fragile students, including toileting/diapering assistance
• Comfort and empathy working with students requiring additional support for behavioral or physical needs
• Willingness to learn new skills; experience with a hoyer lift is a plus, but on-site training will be provided
• Strong team player attitude for collaboration with educators and support staff
• Dependability and patience, especially in adapting to students’ daily needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 assistance to a 4th grade female and an 11th grade female student
• Supporting the physical and behavioral needs of assigned students throughout the day
• Participating in all safety, medical, and behavioral protocols as trained by campus staff
• Assisting with toileting, diapering, and mobility as required
• Participating in daily routines and Tuesday morning team meetings (begin at 8:00am), with standard hours from 8:45am to 4:15pm
• Fostering a positive and supportive environment for students’ growth and wellbeing
