Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of paraprofessional experience in a school special education setting (PreK–12), specifically working with students with autism and challenging behaviors
  • Must reside within a 35-minute commute of the designated work site
  • Availability for full-time hours, Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM through the entire school year
  • Completion of all required clearances by 8/13/2026 (for a start date of 8/19/2026)
  • Ability to participate in a mandatory, week-long orientation (8:30 AM–4:30 PM)
  • Comfortable providing all hands-on supports, including toileting, feeding, transfers, and behavioral interventions
  • Must either hold PA paraprofessional credentials (per state guidelines) or commit to obtaining certification within 60 days of assignment start

Role Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with high school students presenting aggressive or self-injurious behaviors and requiring intensive safety supports
  • Implement individualized safety interventions in a highly structured environment
  • Support classroom routines, facilitate learning, and foster positive behavior
  • Maintain a collaborative, proactive approach in partnership with teachers and support staff
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and productive environment throughout the school day
