Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with severe autism in a highly structured school environment. Positions are available for experienced paraprofessionals serving either high school or K-8 elementary students. Assignments are determined based on school needs at the time of placement and require a strong commitment to student safety, behavioral intervention, and individualized support.

Role Highlights:

  • Serve within a dedicated autism support classroom, providing intensive, hands-on support to students with high behavioral and safety needs, including aggression and self-injury
  • Reinforce student safety using established behavioral protocols and interventions, as directed by certified staff
  • Assist with daily living skills such as feeding, toileting, and transfers, helping learners build independence
  • Foster an inclusive, structured classroom environment that facilitates student growth and positive interaction
  • Collaborate closely with teaching teams, therapists, and support staff
  • Support data collection and documentation of student progress and incidents as required

Desired Background:

  • Must have at least 1+ year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school-based special education classroom working with severe autism and significant behavioral needs; experience must be clearly reflected on resume
  • Reside within 35 minutes of the Levittown area and have reliable transportation
  • Available Monday–Friday, full-day schedules (7:30 AM–3:00 PM or 8:00 AM–3:30 PM) with a required orientation week prior to start (8:30 AM–4:30 PM)
  • Meet one of Pennsylvania’s paraprofessional requirements, or commit to certification within 60 days (resources and guidance provided)
  • Comfortable with all aspects of personal care, safety interventions, and remaining active throughout the day
  • References from two supervisors in paraprofessional roles required
