Instructional Assistant - Liberty, Missouri

Step into a valued role supporting K-12 students as a contract paraprofessional in North Kansas City, Missouri. This assignment spans the academic year from August 25 to May 28, with flexible placements across elementary, middle, and high school settings. You'll have opportunities to positively impact students in SPED classrooms, including both 1:1 and general classroom support throughout the district’s 22 elementary, 6 middle, and 5 high schools.

Your flexibility is key, as you may be assigned to more than one site during the year. Schedules vary: middle school runs 7:00–2:30, high school 7:30–3:00, and elementary either 8:30–4:00 or 9:00–4:30.

Your contributions will include:

• Collaborating daily with teachers, aides, therapists, and support teams to meet student needs with dignity and respect
• Implementing behavior intervention plans and instructional strategies under the guidance of educators
• Providing assistance with toileting, changing, and managing behavioral challenges in a compassionate manner
• Supporting both individual students and full classrooms, depending on assignment
• Maintaining flexibility to move within the district as needed

Qualifications include:

• Active Missouri Substitute Certificate (or ParaPro Exam with transcripts)—must be verified before interviews
• Experience or readiness to assist students with special needs, including toileting and behavioral support
• Willingness to float between sites as needed
• Comfort collaborating in multidisciplinary settings with diverse student populations
