This part-time, contract role is designed for dedicated professionals who bring both compassion and ASL proficiency to their work. You’ll work in an engaging after-school environment across various sites, contributing to students’ educational and personal growth.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
- Experience in a school or educational support setting is preferred
- EIPA certification is not required for this position
- Compassionate, patient, and a strong communicator
- Ability to collaborate with staff, educators, and families
- Flexibility to travel to multiple sites as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist students by translating, interpreting, and facilitating communication using ASL
- Support classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment during after-school hours
- Foster positive interactions and encourage student engagement
- Adapt to various educational needs and classroom settings
- Provide feedback on student progress to lead teachers and support staff
Role Details:
- Contract position, working 20-24 hours per week
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30–6:00 PM
- Work at multiple sites to support a range of students and staff
