This part-time, contract role is designed for dedicated professionals who bring both compassion and ASL proficiency to their work. You’ll work in an engaging after-school environment across various sites, contributing to students’ educational and personal growth.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
  • Experience in a school or educational support setting is preferred
  • EIPA certification is not required for this position
  • Compassionate, patient, and a strong communicator
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, educators, and families
  • Flexibility to travel to multiple sites as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist students by translating, interpreting, and facilitating communication using ASL
  • Support classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment during after-school hours
  • Foster positive interactions and encourage student engagement
  • Adapt to various educational needs and classroom settings
  • Provide feedback on student progress to lead teachers and support staff

Role Details:

  • Contract position, working 20-24 hours per week
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:30–6:00 PM
  • Work at multiple sites to support a range of students and staff
