Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting middle school students by utilizing your expertise in American Sign Language within inclusive classroom settings. This contract position seeks two full-time paraprofessional sign language interpreters to provide communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You'll play an essential role in fostering understanding and equal participation throughout the school day, Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30am to 2:30pm.

Ideal candidates bring strong interpreting skills and a passion for student success. You will facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers, ensuring access to curriculum and classroom interactions. Working within general education classrooms—without behavioral concerns—you will help create environments where all students can thrive.

Key qualifications:

• High school diploma required
• Proof of proficiency in American Sign Language, such as a recognized ASL certificate
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or interpreter in educational settings is highly valued
• Professional, clear communicator and an adaptable team player

Primary responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language during classroom instruction, group activities, and school events
• Assist students with understanding instruction, assignments, and classroom discussions
