Step into a meaningful contract role supporting students as a Bus Aide during the 2026/2027 school year with the possibility of renewal for the following year. This opportunity offers flexible morning and afternoon hours—typically between 6:30–8:30 am and 2:30–4:30 pm—totaling 10 to 15 hours each week depending on route assignment.
You’ll play an essential part in ensuring safe and positive student transportation for individuals with special needs, providing support either one-on-one or two-to-one during their daily commute. Your day will involve being picked up from the school, riding with the bus driver to the student's home, and ensuring a smooth ride back to school—and the same process for afternoon dismissal.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Previous experience supporting special needs children, ideally in a school or transportation setting
- Verbal de-escalation skills and a calm, friendly demeanor
- Ability to commit to the full school year, including ESY (Extended School Year) periods and a likely renewal
- Willingness to complete all onboarding requirements, including CANS fingerprinting (costs reimbursed upon completion)
Key Responsibilities:
- Accompany students to and from school on assigned routes
- Foster a safe and supportive bus environment
- Provide attention and supervision tailored to each child’s needs
- Communicate effectively with drivers, staff, and students
- Maintain punctuality and reliability throughout the contract term
In return, you’ll be part of a collaborative community making a positive impact on students’ daily lives. Onboarding is clear and efficient, including a brief 15-minute interview.
