Over 50 Bus Aide positions are open, with assignments running weekdays for 3 hours per day (15 hours per week). Morning shifts average between 6:30 am–8:30 am, and afternoon shifts are typically 2:30 pm–4:30 pm. Start date is January 5, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with potential to extend into ESY (Extended School Year) and the following academic year.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or certified nursing assistant preferred
- Previous experience working with special needs children strongly desired
- Knowledge of verbal de-escalation techniques
- Comfortable working 1:1 or 2:1 with students on a school bus or similar setting
- Dependability and a caring, patient demeanor
Responsibilities:
- Ride to and from school with students, providing attentive support throughout their journey
- Help ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of the students during transport
- Work closely with drivers and school staff to facilitate a smooth pick-up and drop-off process
- Utilize verbal de-escalation strategies when necessary
- Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere for all students
This assignment is based primarily in Denver, CO, and surrounding areas, with a strong emphasis on Northern Denver. Candidates with relevant experience in assisting students on buses are encouraged to apply.
