Teacher's Aide - Long Beach, California

Make a positive impact supporting students in their daily routines as a Bus Aide for the upcoming school year! Six contract opportunities are available for caring professionals ready to help students from morning pickup through afternoon drop-off. This role is perfect for candidates with paraprofessional or CNA backgrounds who thrive in supportive, hands-on environments.

Role Highlights:

• Provide 1:1 or 2:1 assistance to students riding the bus to and from school
• Ride along with school transportation, ensuring a safe and nurturing experience
• Support students with special needs, utilizing verbal de-escalation skills as needed
• Morning and afternoon shifts, approximately 10–15 hours per week depending on assigned route
• Typical hours are 6:30–8:30 AM and 2:30–4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Contract dates: August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027; strong potential for renewal and options to work ESY as well as return for the following school year
• Locations available in Philadelphia, PA and surrounding communities

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience as a paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Previous experience riding school transportation with students, particularly those with disabilities
• Skilled in verbal de-escalation and managing challenging behaviors
• Patient, reliable, and committed to consistent attendance
• Flexibility to complete all onboarding requirements, including an in-person training session
• Clear communication and collaborative approach with school staff and transportation teams
